Amidst a world where personal protective equipment is a necessity, MIRA Safety has stepped up to the plate with their top of the line gas mask microphones for their revered range of top-notch protective gear. These gas mask microphones have been specifically designed to be integrated into the MIRA Safety Gas Masks. Through this review, we will look at these accessories in detail – namely, the CM-6M, CM-7M, CM-8M and TAPR.

CM-6M:

The CM-6M is one of the more advanced microphones from MIRA Safety. It operates on a 1/8” audio-connector and works with certain tactical radio’s. It has two different bulbs; one which allows the wearer to hear their external environment and the other for the microphone to pick up sound. The microphone is able to cut out most of the background noise but it can, at times become muffled or distorted when in contact with water or sand.

CM-7M:

The CM-7M is a less advanced microphone compared to the CM-6M. It uses a 1/4″ audio-connector and is compatible with tactical radio’s, handheld radios and headset systems. It can be clipped onto any part of the mask and it is also water and dust resistant. Furthermore, it has an extended microphone arm, allowing the microphone to be used in noisy environments.

CM-8M:

The CM-8M is the most sophisticated of the MIRA Safety microphone range. It has a dual connection, allowing the microphone to be connected to tactical radios, handheld radios and headsets. It is designed to be able to pick up sound with minimal background noise and is perfectly suitable for communication in hostile environments. It is covered by a waterproof seal and is designed for use with any MIRA Safety gas mask.

TAPR:

The TAPR is the MIRA Safety’s latest microphone and is designed for use with their Enhanced Respirator Units. This is the only microphone in the range that does not require an audio connection, as it is specially designed for the ERU’s. It is also dust and water resistant and has a built in noise dampener to ensure clear sound quality.

Conclusion:

The MIRA Safety Gas Mask Microphones are designed for increased protection and communication in hazardous environments. They have been crafted with attention to detail for maximum efficiency and long-lasting performance. Therefore, if you are looking for an efficient, resilient and cost-effective solution for communication in contaminated environments, then MIRA Safety is the obvious choice.
