Energy Free Refrigeration?

There is a test going on over at The Survival Podcast Forums on using pots as an energy free refrigeration unit.
As seen at New Media Explorer; two pots (one smaller an inside of the larger) are separated by wet sand and a wet cloth is placed over the unit. According to the New Media report this can keep perishable food for up to three weeks.

Finn at http://www.survivalistboards.com/ brought up a great point regarding the quality of cardboard boxes that come with bulk can food purchases and offered some real answers to the issue.
It looks like he has been worried about box breakage and possible injury down the road after long term storage.
Cleaning Food Storage Buckets

When I bring home my food storage buckets from the local bakery or deli not only are they dirty but they are usually coated in frosting film or smell like pickle brine.
Cleaning the buckets has developed into a process that I wanted to share with anyone that might have questions on how to get the buckets ready for storing food. The following will clean and remove the smell from storage pails.
